Honeycomb Grid
SAAF Honeycomb Grid utilises its large surface area, provided by the honeycomb structure of activated carbon block, to effectively remove various gaseous contaminants, including VOCs, SOx, NOx, and Ozone from indoor and outdoor air.
Effective Gas and Odour Removal
The SAAF Honeycomb Grid filters are designed to adsorb gaseous or vaporized molecules which cause unpleasant odours and may be potentially harmful to health. The ability to adsorb odour molecules is due to a large effective ‘adsorption’ surface area due to the honeycomb structure of the activated carbon block. Typical gases which can be effectively removed include traffic fumes, rubber fumes, various odours produced by alcohol, hydrocarbons, and acidic gases from chemical production processes.
Construction
The SAAF Honeycomb Grid filters consist of honeycomb activated carbon blocks assembled in a rigid cell side and metal face guard on both air-entering and air-leaving sides to protect media from damage. Several types of frame material are available for this filter, i.e., Galvanized steel, Stainless steel, and Aluminium. SAAF Honeycomb Grid filters can be used to retrofit on existing HVAC filters with no changes required for frames or latches.
Media
SAAF Honeycomb Grid filter features a honeycomb structure of the activated carbon block with a large number of parallel cells. These large numbers of parallel cells provide a much higher effective area per pound of media, resulting in a high adsorption area. Due to the parallel cells design, it maximizes the exposure of the sorbent to the gas and creates an unrestricted path for the contaminant, resulting in a low pressure drop across the filter.
Turbulent Airflow
SAAF Honeycomb Grid filter is designed for turbulent air flow. It distributes the flow of gases and air in such a way that there is great contact between the grid wall and the flowing gases. Due to the extensive and continual mixing across the airstream, it increases the contact time and increases the removal efficiency of the unwanted gases.
